271let%u2019s call him Bill, would burst in and be very aggressive. All was going well and the prisoner was telling me nothing. Suddenly Bill kicked the door open. The prisoner had his back to it, but I was facing it. We both jumped to be fair, but in kicking in the door, Bill had actually kicked in the whole door frame. He managed to catch it before it fell to the ground and then while he was shouting at the prisoner, I sidled round and helped with the door. We managed to more or less jam it back into position while the interrogation continued. Both Bill and I were trying hard not to laugh and we had to stay behind the prisoner for a while so he could not see us. The interrogation usually went on all Saturday night so on Sunday morning we were just as tired as our candidates but while they would get debriefed and go to bed, I had to get home, usually by train and dared not sleep in case I missed the correct station. Many of the interrogators had never been interrogated themselves and were very critical of the prisoners who suffering the stress positions. I had more sympathy although I could not show it and in the end stopped doing it.The other thing being Station CSRO led to was parachuting as any serviceman could apply to parachute out of a Hercules. Once a number of our pantomime gang from Tholthorpe had gone to the coast for what we called %u201cThe Wood%u2019s Works Outing%u201d. Geoff Wood was our farmer friend, and we had all decided to go to Runswick Bay for the day. We all took picnics and some even had a swim. It was a grand day out as they say in Yorkshire. Made better because when we arrived a Hercules aircraft came flying along and 4 people parachuted out into the sea. They were picked up by some Gemini craft and taken to a ship standing off the coast. I of course said that I had laid it on although I knew nothing about it and did not even know it was possible. As a CSRO I found that it was and put out a memo to see if anyone was interested and in the end 4 of us went. The reason for going into the water was that it was the landing that hurt people, assuming that the parachute opened, but
