He barked the commands with all the charm of an N.C.O. and we marched to & fro. It was foggy & over the next ten minutes it became so thick that he could not see us ... but he knew where we were by the sound of our boots, although the echo from nearby buildings might well have caused confusion. There was no way that he was going to relent ...drill continued for the full hour! Roger Wooldridge
