                                    21ParatyphoidAs one of our last exercises we had to do a long navigation exercise in the German countryside. During this we had to re-fill our water bottles from a river. We duly applied the prescribed water sterilising tablets. I remember Mugrin becoming unwell. the following day.On the flight home I also became unwell and ended up in hospital with paratyphoid. Amusingly, my love letters to Jacquie had to be sterilised by baking in an oven before they could be posted. Greg WhitearTo P or not to PMost of the Entry were going to the USAAF College at Colorado Springs but for some reason there was not enough room for all of us. A small number were denied what then seemed the trip of a life-time. Chaperoned by the C Squadron Commander, then Squadron Leader Robbie Robson, the 3 Equipment Cadets, Mike Davies, Rich Bolt and yours truly, together with Rockape, Graham Galbraith, and Engineer, Peter Warner, were to go on a week-long visit to the Dutch Military Academy housed in a venerable William of Orange castle in Breda. Venerable may be decoded as cold, uncomfortable and austere %u2013altogether pretty spartan.
