143PART IIIOUR FRIENDSHIPS FROM OTHER COUNTRIESIn addition to the expected contingents from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, 94 Entry was blessed to count in its numbers a number of Flight Cadets from other countries: Ceylon, now of course Sri Lanka, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. It says much for the Cranwell system, the Entry and, above all, the individuals themselves that they melded easily into the Entry. As with all of those who joined us from overseas, our two Saudi friends, Muggy and Azzy, made firm friends. They played full parts in the lives of C Squadron and D Squadron respectively. We are truly delighted that several of our overseas mates have taken the trouble to stay in touch. But not all.D Squadron kept in contact with Azzy until our 25 years on reunionto which he came whilst he was attending the RAF Staff College Course at Bracknell. Sadly we have been unable to maintain that contact. Similarly, despite repeated attempts through the Defence Attach%u00e9%u2019s staff in Amman and the Jordanian Military Attach%u00e9 in London, we have been unable to make contact with Ibrahim Shogran. That C Squadron has been able to keep in touch with Muggy speaks volumes for both the guys in C Squadron and Muggy himself. The following short, contrasting anecdotes seem highly pertinent.
