                                    89owned by a sort of caretaker for the holiday park on the dunes. He considered that he owned the lane and turned out in full highland rig once a year when the Laird came to inspect it. He was always rather short with us although we were actually very quiet neighbours but of course English. As we were at the end of the lane, we were the only ones who could park in it. Public relations were not improved when one day while Gabby was reversing down the lane which was quite narrow, she hit and demolished his fence before driving off to work. The people who lived opposite us, Mr and Mrs Bell were delightful. Mob discovered they had a soft spot for her and she would go into their house for titbits and would settle down in front of their fire. Sometimes we had to knock on their door in the evening and ask for her back before we could go to bed. She used to love chasing the rabbits on the dunes but was a bit of a coward. One day when I came home at about 6am I took her out for an early walk. She saw a rabbit and raced towards it, but it was facing her head on beside the car. She then raced right around the car to come at it from behind and then the chase was joined.A butcher came delivering around Findhorn and parked in a layby at the end of the lane. One day I looked out of the window and Mob raced off at full speed with a string of sausages in her mouth and trailing behind her. I decided to not notice. Behind the house was a patch of grass that belonged to us although the people there cut the grass when they cut the grass in front of their house. Paul came and visited us once and we told him to park on this piece of grass. We then got a note from the people living behind us that it was their grass and to keep off it. We queried this with the solicitor who confirmed that it belonged to us and we could fence it off. I think we told the neighbours that but said would leave it as it was. The next time Gabby went into the village shop she heard some of the women pointing out that she was the person who was trying to steal that land from our neighbour. A lot of the ill feeling was because we were English but the locals had their comeuppance when
