100 And so to the last lap, the post8war years. Already in sharp decline, even before the end of the European War, the whole training machine had virtually ground to a halt well before VJ8Day, the BCATP as early as March. It took the RAF, the entire UK really, a year or two to begin to get its post8war act together and it was the spring of 1947 before there were many signs of life within the domestic training system and the only overseas element that had survived %u2013 just %u2013 was the Rhodesian Air Training Group. This began to come back to life at much the same time when No 4 FTS opened at Heany in February 1947, thus preserving the warm climate facility that the same unit had provided in Egypt between the wars. By 1950, the training system was back on an even keel and running reasonably smoothly %u2013 and then the Korean War broke out. The consequent rearmament programme put considerable strain on the domestic capacity and Canada stepped into the breach for a third time. Initially the RCAF agreed to train 300 RAF pilots per year under a bilateral agreement but this was soon absorbed into the multinational NATO Air Training Plan, which was similar to, but rather less parochial than, the wartime Commonwealth scheme. This gave the RAF some problems as it was now obliged to compete against a %u0017%u0010%u0004%u0019%u0004%u0005 %u0014%u0003%u0004$%u000c%u000b%u0007%u0005 +,fl+ +,fl-%u0005 +,flff%u0005 +,flfl%u0005 +,flffi%u0005 %u0006%u000c%u0003%u0005%u0012%u0004#%u000b%u0004\%u0004%u000b :%u000c%u0008%u0003%u0012'%u0001 %u0005%u0015%u0014 %u0006%u0013%u0018 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u00148%u0016.%u000e%u000e%u0005 %u001a'%u0009ffi%u0004%u0009ffi'%u0001 %u00186%u0013 %u0016%u00136 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u00067%u0006%u0013%u0013&%u0013%u0006%u0017%u0005 :%u000c%u0008%u0003%u0012'%u0001 %u0018%u00058 %u00067fi%u0006%u0015 %u00067%u0016fi%u0015 %u00067%u0014%u0016%u0013 %u00067%u0014%u0006%u0006 fi78%u0015%u0006%u000e%u000b%u001a%u000c %u0005 :%u000c%u0008%u0003%u0012'%u0001 %u0015%u00186 %u00187%u00056%u0006 %u0013%u00188 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u00057%u0018%u00136:%u000c%u0008%u0003%u0012'%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u00146%u0018 fi8%u0016 %u0014%u0016%u0018 %u0017%u0001 %u00067%u0013%u0016%u0005%u0006%u000c%u0011%u0004%u000b\%u001a'%u0009ffi%u0004%u0009ffi'%u0001 fi6 %u0005%u0013%u0016 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u0014%u0018%u0016C %u0011D)?'%u0001 %u00186 fi%u0018%u0015 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 fifi%u0015:%u000c%u0008%u0003%u0012'%u0001 %u0006766%u0005 %u00147fi%u00168 %u00187%u001588 %u00157%u0006%u00136 %u00067%u0014%u0006%u0006 %u0006%u00187fi%u0013%u0018%u0006%u000c%u0003\%u001a'%u0009ffi%u0004%u0009ffi'%u0001 %u0018fi%u0013 %u00067%u0018%u0005%u0016 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u00067%u0013%u0006%u0014C %u0011D)?'%u0001 %u00186 fi%u0018%u0015 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 %u0017%u0001 fifi%u0015%u0005 %u0006%u000c%u0003\+*fl/+ fi*00, ff*-,, -*+fi/ +*ffi++ +0*/ffi/Fig 6.
